What is ΔE (Delta-E)?

Delta-E measures how different two colors are. Lower is better!

• ΔE < 1.0 — Perfect match (nearly indistinguishable to human eye)
• ΔE 1-2 — Excellent match
• ΔE 2-5 — Good match
• ΔE 5-10 — Noticeable difference
• ΔE > 10 — Very different

Scoring

Score = 1000 − (ΔE × 10)

Pure accuracy — number of tries does not affect your score, but breaks leaderboard ties.

1000/1000 requires ΔE < 1.0 ("perfect" match)

Example: ΔE 5.0 = 950 points
